AIMS Golf

Me and Jackson at the Mount Golf Club with our bronze medals.
On the 10th of September the AIMS games golf tournament kicked off at Omokoroa golf club. We played four rounds of 18 holes in four days. The courses that we played were Omokoroa, Omanu, Tauranga and Mount Maunganui. Tauranga Intermediate came third in the team stableford behind Mount Maunganui and Matamata Intermediate. Also Jackson from Totara came third in the Individual stabelford. For those people that don't know how stableford works, it goes like this. If the course par is 70 and your handicap is 30 then you should be hitting 100 and under. Your handicap starts at 36 and as you get better it will get lower.

Term 3 Tanekaha Gymnastics

For P.E,  in Tanekaha House, this term we explored the different types of appartus in gymnastics such as;

-Mini Tramp
-Floor
-Vault
-Beam
-Bar
-Mats

Millie, Casey, Georgia, Kelsey, Karah, and Georgina, students from Tanekaha, ran the gymnastics sessions because they had all been in competitions before and some even took part in the Aims Games.

Before each session of Gymnastics we had to do 3 stretches, sometimes we did;

-Lunges
-Straddles
-Leaning over our legs
-Seal

We really enjoyed doing Gymnastics and some of us have become extremley flexible!

Check out some of our class in the video below...

Squash and Ten Pin

Room 39 won the Tanekaha class competition for Term Two.  Our reward for being the top class was to play squash and have a game of ten pin bowling on the last day of the term.  We walked to our venues and the rain held off.  A great time was had by all...

Isabella and Arna chase the ball around the court.
