Teacher Reading
At the moment Mrs Hulbert is reading us a book about an Olympic swimmer and how her and her best friend, Sarah, are determined to compete in the national swimming team for the 1936 Olympics. Unfortunately when Sarah finds out that the host city is Hitler's Berlin, she knows she can't compete because she is Jewish. On the back of the book it says that Eleanor witnesses the Nazi's hostility to Jews and hears the distant murmurings that will erupt into WWII. I wonder what that means? I am enjoying this book because its written as a diary and the girls always find a way to fix their problems.
The girls go to school at CCS Camden Collegiate School which is a private school. They catch a train to school every morning and they love swimming

The Amazing World Of Reading
This term room39 have being learning how to predict in reading. We are also learning how to summarise a story.
How do we predict?
Predicting is when we guess what is going to happen next in the story. Sometimes we predict during and after the story. Also we have predicted the characters future.
Predicting sentence starters:
>I think... because
>I'll bet... because
>I wonder if... because
> I imagine...because
>I suppose...because
>The style of this author is...so I think...
>From what I already know about...I predict
How do we summarise?
To summarise we take the main points or key words of a story and write a paragraph about the book using the key points.
